How to Convert a Live Photo Into a Photo You might have heard of live photos, which record about three seconds of video each before and after the shutter click.[1] They can be played back by holding the live photo in your hands. What’s more, these photos are actually in HEIF (High Efficiency Image File) format, and the camera will automatically select one of the stills as the lead image.
Auto Reframe
If you want to convert a live photo into a short video, you can apply the Auto Reframe effect to it. [2]This effect creates keyframes in the clip, ensuring that the focus remains in the center of the frame. It also allows you to select how the images are framed, so you can fine-tune the shot to make it more interesting.
One drawback to Auto Reframe is that it isn’t always as accurate as it should be. This can happen if there are more people in the frame than there are available frames. If you’re having trouble with this, you can manually adjust the keyframes to make them smoother.

You’ll want to choose Square 1:1 in the Project panel. Most of the time, Auto Reframe will get the square format right – but you may need to compromise and make some changes.
Loop and Bounce
If you want to convert a live photo into a motion picture, you can use the Loop and Bounce feature.[5] You can set this feature in the Effects area under the photo. After choosing a mode, you can click the loop button and the bounce button to create a video effect. After you click the loop button, you’ll see a preview of the video in the Effects area.
You can also use the Loop and Bounce effect to make a GIF out of a live photo. These effects will be stored in the “Animated” album. If you choose the Long Exposure effect, however, your GIF will remain as a live photo.

Changing a Live Photo to a video is easy and doesn’t take much effort. You’ll need the Photos app on your Mac to do this. Firstly, you should open the Live Photos in the Photos app and go to the Effects menu. You can then choose the effect to apply to the live photo, such as Bounce or Loop. Afterwards, select the option to “Save as Video” under Share.
GlueMotion
