How to Hide Photos on Google Photos? Hiding photos on Google Photos is easy and there are a few methods you can use. But the simplest way is through the archive feature of Google Photos.[1]

Google Photos is a great way to organize and back up your images and videos. It has a variety of features and is free to use on both Android and iOS phones. It also has a very useful feature that allows users to save pictures in albums.[2]

Albums are a great feature in Google Photos because they help users group photos together according to specific criteria. For example, if you take photos of a certain location or event, Google will automatically group them in an album. This is a great way to find and share your most meaningful photos.

You can create albums on the Google Photos app Androi by tapping the Albums tab, selecting your photos, and pressing the “New Album” button at the bottom of the screen.[3] Once you have created an album, you can add as many pictures to it as you like.

In addition, you can also create custom albums for specific events or things that happened to you. For example, you can create an album for your recent trip to Italy.

Once you have created your custom Google Photos album, you can share it with anyone you want. It’s important to remember that you’ll need to have your Google account connected to the new album.[4]

If you don’t, your new Google Photos album will be merged with all other non-custom albums inside the app. This could cause problems if you want to share an album with someone else.

You can hide photos in your Google Photos app by using the Hide option. This will move them to a Hidden album, which will no longer appear in your Library, other albums, or the photos widget on your Home screen.[5]

The best part about hiding photos in your Google Photos app is that you don’t need to worry about them being shared with other users or backed up. Moreover, Google Photos has a lock feature that makes sure your photos are safe.

One of the most popular features of Google Photos is Memories, which is a collection of photos and videos that are based on specific dates. This feature is particularly popular with people who want to relive their past.

Google Photos hide photos with Locked Folder

There are many ways to hide photos on Google Photos, and one of the easiest is through its Locked Folder feature. [6]This new addition is rolled out to all Android users in early 2019 and is a great way to keep private photos and videos secure without having them appear on other apps that may have access to your Google Photos library.

First, go to the Locked Folder setting in the Google Photos app and tap on the Set up Locked Folder button. This will open a new screen where you can select the characteristics of the Locked Folder and then set your current device’s screen lock (fingerprint unlock, pattern, alphanumeric password, or numeric PIN) to protect your folder.

Once you’ve set up the folder, you can then start moving existing photos and videos into it. The pictures you move to the locked folder will no longer be backed up or shared and won’t show up in any grid, search, or other app.[7]

The process is quick and easy, and it can help you free up a lot of space in your Google Photos account. To free up more space, you can also try deleting blurry or low-quality photos that you don’t need to keep.

Google Photos can be a bit of a pain to navigate, and it’s not always clear how to review all of the photos you’ve uploaded. But if you’re careful, it can be a great tool for getting an overview of what’s in your library and then deciding what to delete.

When it comes to backing up photos, there are two main options – Original Quality and High Quality Storage. The former backs up your photos in their full resolution, with no compression added, while the latter uses Google’s clever algorithms to cram down images into small, compressed files.[8]

While both back up your photos in the best possible quality, they can also eat up a lot of space on your phone’s storage. The good news is that Google Photos has a handy storage management page where you can see how much of your library is taking up storage.

Google Photos no longer provide unlimited storage

Google Photos is a popular photo storage and sharing service, but as of June next year, the service will no longer offer free unlimited storage.[9] That’s a shame for many users who had come to rely on Google Photos as their go-to cloud service.

The company’s new policy will start on June 1 and will cut off the free unlimited storage for all photos and videos uploaded to the platform. The move is intended to encourage more people to opt for the paid Google One subscription, which brings Google Drive, Gmail and Photos storage of up to 30TB for $19.99 a month.

Ben-Yair says the move is a reaction to the fact that Google has had to increase its storage capacity as people upload more and more photos and videos to the service. Today, the company handles about 28 billion photo and video uploads each week – four trillion in total.[10]

That’s a lot of data to handle, and it’s why Google has decided to cut off the unlimited free storage feature. But it’s not all bad news for Google Photos users: they’ll be able to archive older photos and videos, so that they don’t take up valuable space on their devices.

If you’re worried about how long your photos and videos will last, Google is also offering a handy tool to help you estimate your storage quota. You can use this to see what your current storage limit is and how much you can save with a paid subscription.[11]

Before you start archiving your old photos and videos, make sure to back them up first. You can do this with the backup and sync app.

The app will automatically re-upload your photos and videos, but you can also manually select which folders you want to sync. Then, when the sync is complete, you can view the contents of these archived folders.

As well as the archived content, Google also allows you to hide photos and videos that aren’t in your main collection. This way, you can hide those that might be embarrassing or incriminating to others[12].

Increase Google Photos Storage Space for Free

Google Photos is a cloud-based photo storage application that helps users store, manage and share their images. It launched in May 2015 and is available on all Android devices, iPhones, desktop computers and the web.

The app is free to use and offers 15GB of free storage. However, many users run out of storage space quickly and need to find ways to increase Google Photos storage.[13]

Luckily, there are some simple ways to increase your Google Photos storage. One is by using the Locked Folder feature, which allows you to store hidden photos and videos on your phone without them synchronizing with the rest of your Google Photos library.

Another way to expand your storage space is by deleting photos. To do this, you can open the Photos app and tap Library and Utilities. Then, delete any photos that you no longer need.[14]

While Google says this isn’t a permanent change, it’s a great idea to review and delete any images that are taking up too much of your storage space. This will help you get below the 15GB limit and avoid having to pay for more storage in the future.

There are also a few ways you can upgrade your storage if you’re already over your 15GB cap, including paying for a subscription or moving to a different cloud service like Apple’s OneDrive.[15] There are many other free and paid cloud services, so be sure to compare options before choosing the best alternative for your needs.

Finally, you can always delete photos and videos that are not of high quality or don’t contain important information. This will save you a lot of space and ensure you don’t run out of Google Photos storage before it’s too late.

Those who are already over their Google Photos storage limit should consider upgrading to a paid plan before they hit the cap. This will give you a better user experience and won’t require any extra work on your part. [16]

Google Photos is a great tool for storing and viewing photos but it also provides the option to hide some of them. This is especially useful for embarrassing pictures or videos that you do not want others to see.[17]

You can also hide your favorite photos in the app so that you can access them later without having to search for them. The easiest way to do this is by archiving them. This method works on Android, iOS and the web.

Another way to hide your pictures in Google Photos is by using its Locked Folder feature. This feature, available only on Google Pixel 3 and above phones, allows you to hide your pictures in a secure space that requires a PIN or fingerprint authentication.[18]

To enable this feature, you will need to install the latest version of Google Photos on your device and then head to Library > Utilities and tap Set up Locked Folder.

After that, you will need to set a passcode for the locked folder so that only people who know your passcode can access it. This means that only you can see the files in the folder, which makes it safe from prying eyes.

Alternatively, you can hide your photos and videos by deleting them entirely from Google Photos. To do this, select a photo or video and then click the three dots icon in the upper right corner to open the menu.

Once you have deleted the photos, you can go back to view them by clicking “Menu” (three dots icon on the top left) and then selecting “Archive”. This will make all of your hidden images visible again in the main screen of Google Photos.

There are many ways to hide your photos and videos in Google Photos, but the easiest is by archiving them.[19] This is because archiving your photos removes them from the main screen of Google Photos and from any search results you might find in the app. The archiving process can take some time, but the results are well worth it.

Hidden album on Google Photos

The hidden album on Google Photos is a great way to hide photos that you don’t want others to see. You can use it to hide your personal photos, screenshots, and WhatsApp images. It’s also a good way to keep sensitive information out of the hands of family members who don’t want it shared.[20]

The Hidden album on iOS and Android devices is a lockable album that requires Face ID, Touch ID, or your iPhone’s passcode to access it. You can re-enable this feature to make it visible again, but you’ll need to know a new person’s Face ID or passcode to do so.

Another method to protect photos on your phone is to use the app’s native Locked Folder feature. This allows you to hide your photos and videos in a passcode-protected space that keeps them from appearing on other apps or in your gallery.

To set up a locked folder, open the Google Photos app on your device and go to Library Utilities. Select Locked Folder, and then follow the on-screen instructions to turn it on.

Once you have the folder set up, you can hide any of your pictures from view by tapping the three-dot icon and choosing “Hidden.” After that, they’ll be archived, but they won’t be visible in your Photos app or anywhere else on your device.

This works for photos and videos you don’t want others to see on your phone, including private photos and videos that you’ve deleted. You can re-enable the Hidden album on an iOS or Android device, or hide it using a third-party app.

Apple also lets you hide your photos in a separate folder on the Photos app, which is another great way to keep your personal images and videos out of the reach of your friends and family. On iPhones and iPads, tap Select in the top right corner of an image or video. Then scroll down to Other Albums and tap Hidden.

This makes it easier for friends and family to see your photos without you having to show them to them. But it means they can’t share your photos, delete them, or even edit them.

Why need to create a hidden album on Google Photos

How to Hide Photos on Google Photos

Google Photos has a simple premise: select photos and group them together in an album. There are two ways to go about this: you can choose snaps first and make the album from that selection, or you can start with an existing photo and create an album from it.

The former method is more common. To create an album from your photos, tap ‘Library’ in the bottom toolbar, then ‘+’ at the top of the albums section (labelled ‘New album’).

You can also add images to an existing album by long-pressing on an image in your feed and tapping ‘Add to’ in the resulting pop-up menu. If you want to share the album with other people, you can do so by clicking ‘Share’ from that screen and selecting who you want to share it with.

Alternatively, you can create a portrait collection that automatically updates itself as new photos are uploaded to Google Photos with faces that it recognizes. This option is a great way to keep your photos fresh and up-to-date, especially if you have family members or pets that are regularly captured in your snaps.

If you’d rather create an auto-updating portrait collection that’s updated automatically, click ‘Select people & pets’ and Google will show you a gallery of faces that it’s detected in your library. You can pick which people and pets you’d like to include, decide whether or not you’d like to receive a notification when someone uploads new photos with these faces, then confirm your decision by tapping ‘Confirm’ in the top-right corner.

When you’re finished, the album will appear in your list of ‘Albums’ in the main sidebar. It can be viewed by anyone who has access to your Google Account.

Creating an album in Google Photos is easy and can be done on the web or in the app. To start an album on the web, open a browser and head to the Google Photos website. Once there, look for the ‘Albums’ tab on the left and click ‘Create an album’ at the top.

How to make Google Photos hide webpage?

Google Photos is one of the most popular online photo storage applications available today. It offers a wide range of features and is continually updated with new features. It is also very user-friendly. However, there are times when you might want to keep certain pictures off the main page of Google Photos so that others cannot view them without your permission.

The best way to achieve this is to make use of the Google Photos archive feature which allows you to hide photos from your view gallery and create a private album that is only visible by clicking the right arrow in the upper left corner of the picture. Alternatively, you can also use the Locked Folder feature, which is currently only available on Google Pixel devices but should be rolled out to Android and iOS users at a later date.

Aside from archiving and hiding photos, you can also make use of the app’s other features to help you with your privacy efforts. For instance, you can set up a file filter, enable an email notification to alert you to files that you haven’t looked at in awhile or even turn on an automated backup routine for your photos.

For those who want to take it a step further, you can try out the new Locked folder feature, which will allow you to hide your most sensitive photos behind a password. To start using the new feature, go to Library > Utilities and select the Locked folder option.

The best part about this new feature is that it doesn’t take much effort to use. All you have to do is set up your account credentials, choose the photos you want to hide and click the OK button. The app will then automatically place them into the Locked Folder for you to access at a later time.
