How to Add a Border on Google Docs? Google Docs makes it easy to add a border around any box element.For example, you can style a box containing an image and captions by defining that box’s “border” properties in the style declaration for the h1 selector.
These include thickness, border-style and color. You can also put a border around any text in the document, as shown below.
Choose the colour and padding
When adding a border to a document, you can select the colour and padding. If you want to remove everything outside the selected area, choose Edit > Invert Selection, then press Delete. When you’re finished, you can re-insert the image into your document. This can be very useful if you have many images and want to limit the number of lines on each image. For example, if you have a large number of characters in a comic book, you can place an image with a limited line length for better readability. 
Choose a paragraph

Select the border width

You can even remove the borders from your table, if you’re not happy with them. To do this, right-click any cell in your table and select ‘Table properties’ from the menu that pops up.
