BoomBozz Craft Pizza & Taphouse is offering a 12-inch Chicken Bacon Avocado pizza during Louisville Pizza Week, which has marinated chicken, applewood-smoked bacon, and red onion on creamy ranchero sauce and topped with fresh mozzarella and fresh avocado cream. The restaurant also offers a build-your-own pizza, with your choice of two toppings.
Abo’s is known for its easy-to-please pizza, which has a New York City Neapolitan crust and hand-tossed dough that’s never frozen. The cheese is the highest-quality 100% mozzarella that’s moist and chewy.[5]
If you’re not in the mood for a traditional pie, Sol Pie Pizza has a number of options to choose from, including gluten-free crust, vegan cheese and organic sauce. In addition to pizza, Sol offers salads, subs and bowls, as well as a soda machine serving organic sodas from Idaho’s Tractor Soda Co.
This is one of those places that might get slammed after this review comes out, but it’s definitely worth checking out for its excellent, chewy pizza crust and a variety of topping options. Parlour Pizza in Shelby Park is a new addition to the Louisville restaurant scene, and it’s bringing an innovative version of one of our favorite Italian foods to the table. The sit-down eatery is the brainchild of chef and restaurateur Mike David, who is also behind the Sugar Room ice cream parlor in the same location.
The menu features a range of Italian classics, from antipasto platters and calzones to pasta and pizza. You can also choose from several salads.[10] If you’re looking for a drink, the bar is equipped with an array of draft beer and cocktails.
Other specials include a 12-inch Chicken Bacon Avocado pizza from BoomBozz Craft Pizza & Taphouse, which is topped with marinated chicken, applewood-smoked bacon and red onion on creamy ranchero sauce, plus fresh mozzarella and avocado cream. This upscale restaurant also offers a cozy, laid-back atmosphere and is known for their excellent beers. It is the perfect place for a date night or to meet friends.
The dough at this artisan pizza joint takes two days to make, and it’s baked on a coal-fired oven. It’s topped with a variety of toppings including Bianco organic tomatoes and nduja sausage, which adds a depth of flavor.[15]

One of the best places to eat Pizza in Louisville is Lupo, which is located at 1540 Frankfort Avenue. It offers seasonalally inspired Neapolitan pizza, Italian dishes and cocktails in a historic brick building.
The pizzas here are made with real care. They are baked in a wood-fired oven imported from Italy, and the coals smolder even when the oven is closed. This attention to detail is something that Adam Turla and Sarah Balliet take very seriously, as they have devoted a great deal of time to the project since opening the restaurant last year.
While the menu may be heavy on traditional pizzas, they don’t skimp on other dishes like agnolotti and porchetta. [17]The fennel and citrus salad, for example, is bright and refreshing and a nice counterpoint to the richer items on the menu.
In addition to the wood-fired pizzas, there are a few more specialty dishes that will keep you coming back for more. The octopus and potato is the best of the lot, and the puttanesca sauce is infused with a flavor that’s addictive.

The eponymous best-of-the-breed, award winning wine list is worth the trip, and the cocktail menu has the wow factor.[18]
One thing for sure, this is a place you will want to make a regular stop on your Louisville travel itinerary. It has one of the best apes in town (no, it’s not the drooling ape) a swag bag to boot, and the most efficient staff in town. There’s no denying that Louisville is the pizza capital of the nation and the home of the Kentucky fried chicken, but the big city also has a lot more to offer its residents and visitors alike.
